Hi, I'm James, a 1st Gen' Blessed Family member from the UK who joined in 2007, went on mission abroad to Albania in 2008 and got Blessed in Korea in 2009 at Sun Moon University by True Parents. My wife and I were the Central Couple for the Holy Wine Ceremony, and are now parents to 2 beautiful children. In 2012 I was the Chanyang Team Leader for the 40 Day Workshop in Cheongpyeong during True Father's 40 Day Ascension, and won the Divine Principle test during that Workshop.
As winner of the test I was due to receive a special limited-edition DP book as an award. However, I was also due to receive a second limited-edition DP book for being the Chanyang Team Leader of the first Special Great Works held 1 day after True Father's 40 Day Ascension. But CP staff told me they don't normally give 2 books to one person and said this has never happened before, then asked me to choose which book I'd like to receive. I chose to receive the DP book for being CY Team Leader so that the other book could go to the person who came second in the test and who would replace me as the winner.
How did you get into helping members with Spiritual Readings?
Ever since I was young I've been experiencing spiritual phenomena including seeing a vision of The Blessing when I was 7, meeting True Mother after praying to meet the Holy Spirit 3 years before even knowing the Movement existed, and then witnessing my spiritual parent (instead of being witnessed to) because I saw his spirit was significantly different from everyone else's and I wanted to find out why so I approached him and asked lots of questions until he told me everything I wanted to know.
Shortly after joining like that in 2007, a brother in England who had been helping members with spiritual readings for about 20 years and whose teachings about the spirit world have been published in Today's World, asked me to take over for him and said that I am the only member he's met who can do what he does and can even do it better than him (due in part to the merit of the age). I accepted and started helping members get answers to their problems through spiritual readings.
Why have members been asking for your help with Spiritual Readings?
There are two main reasons why members have been asking me for help with a spiritual reading... either it's because you've got an uninvited problem you're struggling with that you want a clear answer to so you can overcome the challenge and stop suffering, or you're simply curious what's going on with your ancestors in the spirit world. But 99% of the time it's because you've got an uninvited problem that you want a clear answer to so you can end the suffering.
Why haven't members been able to do their own Spiritual Readings before?
Over they years I've been doing spiritual readings to help members get clear answers to their problems, the main obstacle I've seen that has prevented members from doing their own spiritual readings is that you've believed you need to be spiritually open to perceive the spirit world. And because you haven't been spiritually open or you didn't know all the steps of how to do a spiritual reading to get clear answers to your problems, you simply didn't try or even think it was possible. Or you tried and failed.
This belief that you need to be spiritually open to do spiritual readings has been further exacerbated by the brother in England whose spiritual senses, according to his own testimony, have always been open ever since his early twenties and the only way he's been able to do spiritual readings for members is by using his spiritual senses. But he also testified on many occasions that having your spiritual sense always open has been extremely difficult to safely manage. And I also testify to how difficult it can be to safely manage being spiritually open.
When I was fourteen, I realized there are risks to being spiritually open all of the time and so I said a prayer to God. I asked God to close down my spiritual senses and to open them up only when I can do something good for God and for others on behalf of God. Ever since then, my spiritual senses have been closed and I've opened them up focused on a good and specific purpose. Being able to turn my spiritual senses on and off like this has been incredibly helpful over the years.
But even though I've been spiritually closed most of the time since then, I've still been able to get knowledge from the spirit world without having to use my spiritual senses and that's how I've been helping members get clear answers to their problems. It's like describing a memory, you can recall every detail about what happened without actually being there at the time.
So I don't need to be spiritually open to do my own Spiritual Readings?
No. True Parents spoke in speeches about a 6th spiritual sense which is not one of the five taught in the Principle of spiritual sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. There are many things taught in True Parents' speeches and other books made from TPs teachings that are not included in the DP book. So I've been using this sixth spiritual sense to get clear answers to problems without being spiritually open and you can use it to get your own answers too. You just need to learn the steps of how to use it. That's why I made this Workshop, so you can learn everything I've been doing to get clear answers and do it for yourself.

The reason why I held his Workshop teaching you how to do our own spiritual readings is because God is asking me to move onto another (witnessing) project and I wanted to make sure members have everything help them find answers to their problems with a spiritual reading can get a spiritual reading, even those who haven't been able to afford one. Or even if you could afford one but just never felt the need, now there's no reason for you not to take a look since it's so cheap and to see how you can do them yourself.
I also held this Workshop because God is asking me to focus on witnessing projects that involve reaching millions of people, which means I do not have the time to perform spiritual readings for members anymore since my time is getting more and more full with my public mission. It has been a blessing and a positive experience helping members find answers to their problems through spiritual readings, but I believe the time has come for you to take responsibility over being able to correctly interpret what's going on for you spiritually and not to depend on anyone else to help you. Now is the time for you to step into your ownership, and learning how to do your own spiritual readings without any of the risks of being spiritually open is a step in that right direction.
